Yes: advertising on a vehicle in Dubai, even a small logo sticker, needs a permit from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Here is how it works.
Who needs the permit
Any company putting its name, logo or advertising on a vehicle in Dubai. The applicant needs a valid Dubai trade licence. Some categories, such as mobile advertising vehicles, are limited to licensed advertising companies.
Documents
- A copy of the Dubai trade licence
- The design for all four sides of the vehicle
- A mock-up showing the design on the vehicle
- For special or event vehicles, a letter explaining the activity
Steps
- Log in to the RTA website and choose the vehicle advertising service.
- Upload the documents and submit.
- Receive a transaction number by email and SMS.
- RTA reviews the application and approves or rejects it.
- Pay the fee online or at an RTA customer centre.
- Print the permit and keep it with the vehicle.
Rules on the design
- No advertising on the windscreen.
- Wrap permits are priced excluding windows, so plan windows separately.
- No pictures on the top part of the vehicle.
Fees
Fees depend on the vehicle type and how much of it is covered, from a door logo to a full wrap. Check the current fee on the RTA website when you apply.
How we help
We prepare the four-side design and the mock-up the application needs, then print and apply the branding once the permit is approved.
